If you’re looking for easy to understand summaries (or buod) of Florante at Laura, they’re available in Taglish audio format.
Taglish is a combination of Filipino and English (or Tagalog + English).
What we did was to record a quick audio explanation of Florante at Laura. Each audio clip has 2 stanzas, and the MP3 files are downloadable from this Facebook Fan Page:
http://fb.com/FloranteAtLauraBuod
Each audio clip runs for around 3 minutes, which means each stanza goes for 1.5 minutes. That’s a pretty fast way to understand F&L even more.
The audio mp3 files were recorded using a USB headset mic and open-source software (Audacity). These were exported as 128kbps MP3 files.
Do you remember how it was in high school, when you had to survive Filipino by understanding F&L? How much time did you spend going through the dictionary?
Hopefully, with this growing collection Florante at Laura Buod audio clips, we will be able to help more Filipinos gain a better understanding and appreciation of the awit written by Francisco Balagtas.
May you enjoy Philippine literature more! :-)
