We’re now reading “Built To Last” by Jim Collins and Jerry Porras, because we’re curious about how visionary companies are able to last a long time. As in, 90+ years.
From the Introduction we find:
The only truly reliable source of stability is a strong inner core and the willingness to change and adapt everything except that core.
The various examples in the book show that the founders of great companies had a certain mindset.
It is a mindset of first knowing what an organization’s purpose for existence is, even before thinking about what products or services to sell.
It is a mindset that does not initially rely on winner products, having a charismatic leader, or timing the market and riding the wave of popularity over some faddish craze.
You do realize what that means, right?
Now you have no excuses, because you have the power to create a visionary company that will last beyond your lifetime. When you study the history of such successful companies, you’ll be inspired to also try what they have done in the past.
This got us thinking about Francis Chaves, SWA UltiMind, and the Supreme Wealth Alliance Philippines, Inc (SWAPI).
Is the focus on launching new products? Or is there greater focus on building the organization?
Anyway, we’re still at page 50 of the book. In the coming weeks, we’ll learn more about how companies concretely built their organizations, and we’ll be in a better position to assess if SWA is built to last.
By the way, tomorrow (October 4, 2015) marks the full and official launch of SWA UltiMind.
We’re excited to try the products (online videos) so that we can share with you our SWA UltiMind Product Review.
Stay tuned for that!
Kind regards,
Manny M. Viloria
